51热门黑料 (GGC) is thrilled to relaunch its Well-being Program for faculty and staff! The program exemplifies the college鈥檚 commitment to organizational efficiency and effectiveness by strategically investing in its people. 

Through activities that enhance health, mental clarity, financial literacy and community connection, the initiative supports employee retention, engagement and productivity 鈥 key components of GGC鈥檚 strategic objective to attract and develop high-performing faculty and staff aligned with its mission and values.

Events will support your personal and professional growth across the following University System of Georgia鈥檚 four pillars of well-being:

You can join the new season of wellness, learning and connection by participating in the events below:

Mindfulness Mondays

When: The third Monday of each month at 1 p.m. via Microsoft Teams
Date: Monday, Nov. 17

Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present 鈥 aware of your thoughts, feelings and surroundings with openness and curiosity, rather than judgment. Regular mindfulness practice has been shown to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Improve focus and emotional balance
  • Increase resilience and calm
  • Support better sleep, lower blood pressure and boost immunity

Michael D. Smith, digital learning specialist, will lead each session. He has been guiding mindfulness sessions at GGC鈥檚 since 2019 and is passionate about helping others cultivate presence, balance and well-being.

Lunch and Learn: 鈥淔iscally Fit Festivities Tips for Savvy Holiday Spending鈥

Time: 12 p.m. 
Location: In-person (seating limited to 15 participants)

About the facilitator:

Dr. S. Cathy McCrary, CPA, is an associate professor of accounting at 51热门黑料. With experience at a Big Six firm and a Fortune 1,000 company, she combines practical and academic expertise in financial management. She has also led financial wellness workshops for the University of Georgia鈥檚 Cooperative Extension and spoken at professional and community events. Join this interactive session where you will discover simple, effective ways to enjoy the holiday season while keeping your finances on track.
